IR spectroscopy
Visible and near-infrared (VIS-NIR) spectroscopy can detect the presence and relative abundance of clay minerals, micas, carbonates, sulfates, iron and copper oxides, organics, and many hydrous and hydroxyl-bearing minerals. We will analyze your sample quickly and effectively using an ASD FieldSpec Pro FR portable spectroradiometer with a wavelength range between 350 and 2500 nanometers. Send us samples or we can visit your site. All studies include interpretation of spectra and discussion of the geological context. Combine VIS-NIR with our petrographic services and we will give you a 40% discount! Key Benefits
CapabilitiesThe ASD FieldSpec is significantly faster and has better signal to noise characteristics than the PIMA spectrometer. Also, a wide variety of light sources can be used to illuminate the material to be analyzed, including natural sunlight. This makes the FieldSpec an ideal tool to calibrate satellite images, analyze materials from great distances (i.e. bench mapping where no foot access is possible), and provide quality control along the production line in industrial settings.
